Tools & Extras / Food Allergy Campaign

The European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) launched on June 2012 its Food Allergy Campaign. The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of the sharp increase of anaphylaxis in children, an allergic reaction that is severe and potentially life-threatening. It aims at educating the public to recognise the symptoms and its triggers, and to teach methods of how to react in case of emergency, e.g. by using an adrenaline pen.

The campaign will go from June 2012 – 2013 and thought out the year, the following documents will be launched:

- International Minimum Standards for the Allergic Child at School – on going
- Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Guidelines Public Declaration, during Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Meting, FAAM 2013, in Nice, France
- Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Guidelines, during the EAACI – WAO Congress 2013 in Milan

The Food Allergy Campaign is also supported by the EAACI Patients Organisations Committee, with more than 25 country representatives from across Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East, Asia and Oceania.
